Google Maps is emailing ‘2020 Timeline Update’ to you

For many travellers and general users since 2020 has been the year of pandemic. Google Maps is sending out a “2020 Timeline Update” via an email, giving you an overview of all the places where you have visited in the year of pandemic, along with some extra information. The goal of this is to provide you useful local statistics and showing the cities, places and the images you travelled. But, people have stayed at home only in 202p. So, in case you get the email, you can ignore it.

Google Maps states that “Covid-19 changed the world’s travels in 2020, and how many places people were able to visit. If you were able to travel this year, you can see some of the places you’ve been with the help of this automated Timeline email”.

Also, there is a new ‘trends’ section that breaks down the types of places like shopping, food, and drinks, and you visited every month in 2020. It shows the statistics on how many miles you have walked or drove with the “Cities visited” and “Places visited” to get a cover image. There is the total distance also you travelled in 2020 along with “Your all times data.”

Google has been dedicated to making its Maps service more powerful. It brings an update to make it easier for users to commute between their frequently travelled locations. It disclosed the ‘Go’ tab where users navigate between often travelled places with just one tap only.
