Telegram brings new voice chat, animated stickers, and other features

Telegram update features including Voice Chat for Telegram Groups, SD Card storage, and new UI animation for the Android version of the app. Telegram has many million active users and is set to cross the 500 million mark very soon. It allows groups to instantly turn into a voice-chat room.

Telegram said that “Any Telegram group can be converted to a voice chat room with this new feature. Hence, it can be used as virtual office spaces for teams or casual lounges for various communities. With the Voice Chat Overlay feature, users can freely move around the app, browse conversations, and send messages, while remaining connected on any voice chat. Android users also get the full Voice Chat experience with a system-wide floating widget that shows your mic controls and who is currently talking, even when Telegram is in the background. Users of Telegram Desktop and the native macOS app can choose a push-to-talk key for Voice Chats, to control their mic even when Telegram is not focused,”

Telegram users now move their app data from internal storage to an external SD card. It helps the users in freeing up the internal storage of their devices. It brings new animated stickers and animated emojis for Android users. It includes a media editing tool that allows users to edit a photo, already sent to add effects, drawings, or stickers with the media editor.

Durov said that “Telegram will begin to generate revenue, starting next year. We will do it following our values and the pledges we have made over the last 7 years. Thanks to our current scale, we will be able to do it in a non-intrusive way. Most users will hardly notice any change,”
