Xiaomi launched the remote charging solution called Mi Air Charge. It enables users to charge their devices over-the-air without using any cables or wireless charging stands. This technology has 17 technical patents. It will also be able to charge smartwatches, bracelets, and other wearable devices in the future. In the future, the device like speakers, desk lamps and other smart home products will be built on wireless power supply design.
The Mi Air Charge technology of Xiaomi functions on space positioning and energy transmission. This isolated charging pile has five phase interference antennas built in to detect the location of the smartphone. The phase control array formulated of 144 antennas transmits millimeter-wide waves directly to the phone through beamforming. It developed a miniaturized antenna array with “beacon antenna” and “receiving antenna array”. The receiving antenna array components are based on 14 antennas that convert the millimeter-wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric energy through the rectifier circuit, to turn the sci-fi charging experience into reality.
This remote charging technology is prepared for 5-watt remote charging for a single device within a radius of several meters. With this, multiple devices can charge at the same time and even physical barriers do not reduce the charging efficiency.
